Prayer Calendar Purpose:
They asked Jesus why? His response was this, “Some are only cast out by prayer and fasting”. [Matthew 17:21]
Our pastors are contending against fortifications of evil that are resistant to their efforts. This was for me a reminder that we are engaged in a spiritual battle. The weapons of this war are not dependent upon your own skill level and experience in battle. Spiritual resources are needed for spiritual fighting.
We are spread out over three states and British Columbia. We are not close to stand with one another. So what are we to do?
Pray for one another in an intentional fashion.
The NW District is requesting that at every worship service a church, designated for the week, be lifted up in corporate prayer. Pray for the church to be effective in their reaching lost people in the community. Pray for the pastor and leaders, that they be used by God to touch the community for His Kingdom. Pray that spiritual strong holds will be broken down.
This will bring multiplied power to the aid of each of our churches. This will connect our churches to each other through this bond of prayer. We can learn to depend upon each other as we work together for our common cause. As victory reports come in they can be shared as answers to prayer.
Our hope is that following the Sunday, people will contact the one prayed for and affirm and encourage the pastor. This will help build a spirit of togetherness in our district.
Jesus knows what he is talking about. We pray for our own people and communities but if we could join together we could also accomplish more in other outposts. What if you are not the pastor of a church but maybe retired, on staff, a ministerial student? You can join in as well. Your prayers and participation are welcomed.
There is a church listed for each Sunday in our calendar. Please consider contacting the pastor prior to Sunday to find out if there are any specific needs for prayer. Have your people face the direction of the church and extend their hands towards their brothers and sisters in Christ as you pray for them.
Let us become true intercessors for our churches and pastors.
